The relationship between the science of man and the natural world has had a strong influence on my life. For many years, I worked in a biochemistry lab and have been living in the country. Being an avid gardener, I often see how quickly the products of man are taken back by Mother Nature in her processes of decay and regrowth.
Humanity cuts through nature in straight lines often imposing symmetry with our structures. Nature flows through this rigidity in outstretching waves.
A unique balance is struck when the reflective qualities of man-made glass is laid next to natural stone and its rough texture.
In a time when our environmental impact is in the front of our minds, finding balance has never seemed more important. If not for us, then for our future generations; but can there ever be true harmony or only struggle?
